Sarah Channing Grieboski, Director of Communications
As Director of Communications for THE INSTITUTE, Sarah Channing Grieboski wears many hats and changes them hourly. From balancing the budget to writing press releases, managing donor databases to orchestrating public events, there is never a dull moment in her office.
Over the years, Sarah has built an impressive portfolio of columns, blogs, newsletters, case studies, press releases, webinar scripts and eBlast campaigns and has ghostwritten several articles for a nationally syndicated magazine. Writing in so many diverse mediums has provided her with the necessary tools to custom tailor the voice of each marketing piece to its end audience.
Sarah is also versed in search engine optimization best practices and creating keyword-driven content. From high tech articles on the printing industry to high conversion ads for timeshares, her eclectic portfolio demonstrates that she can write for any market.
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Business Administration from University of New Hampshire. She was awarded a Master’s of Science in Business Administration from San Diego State University and is a member of the Beta Gamma Honor Society. A talented musician, Ms. Grieboski has sung with Hawaii Opera Theatre, Hawaii Vocal Arts Ensemble and The Master Singers of Virginia. She lives with her husband Joseph and their two whippets in Alexandria, Virginia.
Shannon Scott, Director of Development and Corporate Relations
As Director of Development and Corporate Relations, Shannon Scott designs, introduces and advances development strategies for THE INSTITUTE on Religion and Public Policy. In this capacity, she leverages key relationships and contacts, sets fundraising goals, and actively engages sponsors. Shannon works to expand funding sources from private foundations, individuals, events, and other grants.
Having lived in Singapore and studied in England, Mexico and South Africa, Shannon is very passionate about community organizing, social justice and international human rights. Prior to interning with THE INSTITUTE, Shannon wrote several successful grants for Teach For America Corps. She also developed a successful English Language Learner program and Federal Grant proposal for the Refugee Development Center of Lansing, Michigan.
Ms. Scott graduated from Michigan State University in May of 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy with a specialization in African Studies, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a specialization in Peace and Justice Studies. Shannon is a 2008 Teach For America Corps member and was awarded a Masters in Education from the University of Missouri.
Shannon lives in Alexandria, Virginia, and is completing a Masters in Public Administration, focusing on Non-Profit Management at George Mason University.
